This weekend our team headed out to Coyote Crossing in West Lafayette for the Restored golf outing. Restored is the Rohrman family's foundation, and the outing is one of the ways the whole organization comes together to raise money and take care of its own. We were glad to be there, clubs and all.
If you've ever brought a car to us, you already know the part we play. We take care of your vehicle, and we take care of you while it's in our hands. What you might not see from the customer side is how seriously the people above us take care of their own team. The Restored golf outing is where those two things meet, so it felt like a good moment to tell you about it.
What Restored Is
Restored is the Rohrman family's assistance program for its own people. In plain terms: when someone who works at a Rohrman store gets hit with a real crisis, a medical bill they can't cover, a house fire, the loss of a loved one, a child who needs counseling, Restored steps in with help. The foundation puts it this way: it's "a family-focused corporate assistance program, designed to provide restoration through counseling and financial support for individuals and families connected to the Rohrman Automotive Group."
The numbers say it better than I can. Since it began, Restored has helped more than 1,800 Rohrman team families with over $2.8 million in support for health, counseling, education, and financial emergencies. That is real money reaching real families on some of the hardest days of their lives. It's run by the Rohrman family alongside leaders from across the dealer group, with outside partners who handle every request quietly and with respect for the family asking.
A Group That Takes Care of Its Own
Here is what stands out to me after years in this business. Plenty of companies say they care about their people. The Rohrman Automotive Group put real money and real structure behind it. Restored is not a poster in the break room. It is a working fund that has paid actual bills for more than 1,800 families on the worst days of their lives, no questions about whether someone has earned it, just help when it is needed.
That is the same commitment we try to live out in the shop, only pointed at a different job. The family takes care of its employees. We take care of your car and the person driving it. Same standard, from the front office down to the paint booth. When an organization looks after its own people that well, you feel it as a customer too, because the folks doing your repair are not worried about whether anyone has their back.
The Vendors Showed Up to Give Back Too
One thing that made the day special is that it was not only a Rohrman effort. A big part of what makes this outing work is the vendors and partners who sponsor it. These are companies we work with all year, the people who supply our parts, our paint, and our equipment, and when Restored puts on this event, they line up to sponsor holes, donate prizes, and chip in however they can. They love being part of giving back as much as we do. It says a lot that the businesses around this group want a seat at the table when the cause is taking care of families. Caring for people turns out to be contagious.
A Morning at Coyote Crossing
The event itself is an 18-hole Florida scramble, with teams from Rohrman stores all over the area playing together. There was lunch at the clubhouse, a beverage cart making the rounds, and the easy back-and-forth you get when service departments and body shops share a scorecard. Every dollar raised goes straight back to Restored, which means straight back to families who may need it next month with no warning at all. That is what kept the morning in perspective for us.
The Same Care We Bring to Your Car
We don't talk about this side of things much, because it is not why you call us. You call because your car got hit and you need it made right. But the culture that funds a foundation for its employees is the same culture that backs your repair with a lifetime warranty and an I-CAR Gold Certified team. Take care of people. Do the work right. Stand behind it. That is the group you are trusting with your car, and we do not take it lightly.
