Accessibility Statement
We are committed to making www.rohrmanbodyshop.com and our physical facility usable by everyone, including people with disabilities and users of assistive technology.
Last Updated: April 29, 2026
Target conformance: WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, the international standard referenced by the ADA).
Need help right now? Call (765) 448-1100 Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-5:00 PM and any team member will assist you. We can also email at [email protected].
1. Our Commitment
Bob Rohrman Collision Repair Center believes everyone in the Greater Lafayette community deserves equal access to information about repairing their vehicle — whether they use a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, screen magnification, or any other assistive technology. We treat digital accessibility the same way we treat physical accessibility at our shop on National Drive: as a baseline expectation, not an afterthought.
We measure our website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG is the standard the U.S. Department of Justice references when applying Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to commercial websites.
2. Conformance Status
Partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partial conformance" means some parts of our Site fully meet the standard while other parts do not yet fully meet it. We disclose this honestly because conformance is an ongoing process — not a one-time certification.
Areas where we believe we meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA today:
- Semantic HTML structure (headings in order, landmarks like
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<footer>). - Alt text on informational images and meaningful link text.
- Keyboard navigability of the main menu, mobile menu, and forms (Tab to move forward, Shift+Tab back, Enter to activate).
- Color-contrast ratios on body text and primary buttons that meet or exceed 4.5:1 (normal text) and 3:1 (large text and UI controls).
- Visible focus indicators on links and buttons.
- Forms with labels associated to inputs and clear error messaging.
- Resizable text up to 200% without breaking the layout.
- Mobile-responsive design that works at zoom levels up to 400%.
2a. Known limitations and what we are doing about them
We are aware of these areas where we may not yet fully conform, and we are actively working on each:
- Third-party widgets: The Carwise photo estimate, Carwise booking, Trustindex Google reviews, and Google Maps embeds are provided by third parties whose accessibility we do not directly control. We have requested accessibility documentation from each vendor. If a third-party widget is blocking you, call us at (765) 448-1100 and we will complete the same task by phone.
- Older blog posts and gallery images: A small number of legacy images may have generic or missing alternative text. We are auditing the gallery and blog and adding descriptive alt text as we find gaps.
- PDF documents: Any insurance reference PDFs we link to that originate with insurance carriers may not be tagged for screen-reader use. We are linking to HTML alternatives where available.
- Captioned video: If we add educational video content, we will provide captions and transcripts. As of this writing, we do not host video on the Site.
3. Accessibility Features Built In
3a. Keyboard navigation
You can navigate the entire Site using only a keyboard. Press Tab to move forward through links, buttons, and form fields; Shift + Tab to move backward; Enter or Space to activate the focused control. The mobile menu and dropdown service menus are keyboard-accessible. There is no keyboard trap on the Site — if you find one, please report it (see Section 6).
3b. Screen reader landmarks
Every page uses semantic HTML5 landmarks that screen readers announce:
<header>— the top navigation and brand area.<nav>— primary navigation menu.<main id="main-content">— the unique page content. You can jump straight here using a screen reader's landmark navigation (typically the D key in NVDA/JAWS or the rotor in VoiceOver).<footer>— the site-wide footer with hours, contact info, and policy links.
3c. Heading structure
Each page starts with a single <h1> that names the page. Section headings (<h2>, <h3>) are nested in order so screen-reader users can browse the page outline.
3d. Alternative text on images
Informational images (logos, repair photos, service icons) include descriptive alternative text. Purely decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
3e. Color is not the only signal
We don't rely on color alone to communicate meaning. Required form fields are marked with both color and an asterisk plus a screen-reader label. Error messages are prefixed with text, not just colored red.
3f. Resize, zoom, and reflow
Your browser's text-size controls work on our Site. You can zoom up to 400% and the layout will reflow into a single column without losing content or functionality. You can also use your operating system's built-in zoom (typically Ctrl/Cmd + plus key).
3g. Reduced motion
If you've enabled "Reduce Motion" in your operating system, our CSS respects the prefers-reduced-motion media query and minimizes non-essential animations.
3h. Spanish-language version
The full Site is available in Spanish at www.rohrmanbodyshop.com/es/. The Spanish version is held to the same WCAG 2.1 AA target as the English version.
4. Tested Assistive Technology and Browsers
We test the Site in the following combinations. If you use a different combination and encounter a barrier, please tell us — that helps us prioritize.
| Platform | Browser | Assistive technology |
|---|---|---|
| Windows 10/11 | Chrome, Firefox, Edge | NVDA, JAWS, Windows Narrator |
| macOS | Safari, Chrome | VoiceOver |
| iOS | Safari | VoiceOver |
| Android | Chrome | TalkBack |
5. Physical Facility Accessibility
Our Lafayette location at 3400 National Drive is ADA-compliant for in-person visits:
- Designated accessible parking near the customer entrance.
- Step-free entry from the parking lot to the customer waiting area.
- Accessible restrooms.
- Staff trained to assist customers who need help moving belongings between vehicles or arranging alternate transportation.
- If you need to drop off a vehicle and cannot come inside, we offer curbside intake — call us when you arrive and a service advisor will come to you.
If a physical accommodation would help your visit, please call ahead at (765) 448-1100 and we will arrange it.
6. Report an Accessibility Barrier
If you encounter a page, feature, or PDF on this Site that is not accessible, we want to know. Reporting a barrier helps us fix it for you and for everyone else who encounters it later.
How to reach us:
- Email: [email protected] with the subject line "Accessibility Feedback."
- Phone: (765) 448-1100, Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-5:00 PM Eastern Time.
- Mail: Bob Rohrman Collision Repair Center, Attn: Accessibility, 3400 National Drive, Lafayette, IN 47905.
- In person: Stop by during business hours and ask for the manager on duty.
When you report a barrier, please tell us (if you can):
- The page URL or what you were trying to do.
- The browser, operating system, and assistive technology you were using.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
Our response commitment: we will acknowledge your report within 2 business days and let you know our planned timeline for the fix or for an alternative way to complete your task. Most issues are resolved within 30 days; some require coordination with third-party vendors and may take longer, but you will hear from us along the way.
7. Alternative Ways to Get the Same Result
If any part of the Site is blocking you, you do not have to use the Site to do business with us. Every online task has an offline equivalent:
| Online task | Offline equivalent |
|---|---|
| Photo estimate (Carwise) | Drop in for a free in-person estimate during business hours, or call to schedule one. |
| Book an appointment | Call (765) 448-1100 and we will book it with you. |
| Read service descriptions or FAQs | Call us — we'll answer any question over the phone in plain English or Spanish. |
| Submit a contact form | Call, email, or stop in. Same result. |
| Read the Privacy Policy or Terms | Request a printed copy at the front desk or by mail. |
8. Continuous Improvement
We treat this Statement as a living document. We:
- Re-test the Site at least annually against WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
- Run automated accessibility scans (axe, Lighthouse) as part of our deploy workflow so common regressions are caught before they reach you.
- Train staff who edit the Site on alt text, link text, and heading structure.
- Track every barrier reported by a visitor and verify the fix before closing the report.
- Review this Statement when we add a new section or feature to the Site, and republish it if conformance status changes.
9. Legal Context
This Statement is informational. It is not a contract or a waiver of any rights you have under federal, state, or local law, including:
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III — the federal law requiring places of public accommodation to be accessible. Courts and the U.S. Department of Justice apply Title III to commercial websites tied to physical businesses like ours.
- Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act — applicable when federal funding is involved.
- Indiana Code § 22-9-1 — Indiana civil-rights law, which prohibits discrimination based on disability in places of public accommodation.
- Indiana Code § 16-32-3 — rights of persons with disabilities.
If we cannot resolve a concern through the channels above, you have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice (ADA.gov), the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, or to consult an attorney.
